Book reflective essay

8) Pick a character that interested you and write about them in depth. You can also analyze a relationship between two different characters.

2) For what audience(s) is this book intended, and how can you tell? (In other words, for whom would you recommend this book?

3) What are the weaknesses of this book, in your opinion?

The book that I'm reading is call the Kite Runner. It by Khaled Hosseini, it a very powerful and hunting fictional novel. It about a a little boy who had to make transformation from Afghanistan to the united states to get away from the war but the guilt he had in his heart and the memory of thing he seen and went through wont let him have piece or a mind of freedom.
Amir and Hassan are two best friend living in Afghanistan. they went through some hard time with the kids and the environment that was surrounding them. Hassan and Amire enjoyed flying kite. They were in a kite fighting tournament. They won won and that was were the trouble began. when Hassan left Amir to go get the kite. Because he felt like since Amire cut the kite he should keep it. When he was in the alley get the kite Eself the guy who was always bothering him saw him.He told him to give up the kite. Hassan did not wanted to. He told Amir that he was going to bring it back, so he felt he should fulfill his promise.. Eself said that since Hassan don't want to give the kite up he will do something that will remind him of the day he refuse to give the kite. Eself rapes Hassan. When Amir was looking for Hassan he saw everything that went on. Amir was to scared to go help because he knew what Eself were capable of doing the same thing to him and again there was two other guys who could help.
Amir kept that in his heart and dint tell anybody. even though later on Hassan found out that Amir saw them.
Amir and his father left Afghanistan to America. His father was getting away from the Russians. Living in America was not fun for Amir because the memory of what happen to hassan kept on flashing in his mind and he want to do something that will show to hassan he was very sorry that he did not help.
Amir got married years on in the states. His father died. The death of his father open doors to the hidden secrets.Amir found out that Hassan were his brother so he
went back to Afghanistan to find his brother and the story pick up from here.

3) The weakness of this book may not be a weakness to some people but in my opinion it is. I felt like the book were missing a big information. He should of added something about why Aaself acted the way he did. I wanted the Aurthur to add something about his child hood or the background of his life. Was he hurt before in the past and nobody was there for him. Did he feel like he should hurt and bother someone else because he is replacing his pain.

The other weakness of this book is that Hassan should have never died. I wanted the two brother to get together and there should of been a section of them having a reunion together. The author should of put something in the book of why Amir treated Hassan like he did. did he acted different towards him because of what he saw, was he sacred and wanted to protect his self.i wanted them to write something about both of the friends/brother forgiving each other.

2) The Audience for this book are people who liked to read powerful fictional book. It also for people who are interested in the Afghanistan's battles and war.For example if you are interested and want to know why really the Russians went to Afghanistan there will probably be some information about that.
The title of the book do have to do something about kite. When you are interested in kite there is a unique game in here you can learned about.
I call my self an Audience of this book because when i read it i really enjoyed it. It is a very powerful book. Even though it was fictional novel it got to me really deeply. Every-time i open the book i discovered something new.
I am also an audience of the kite runner because i get engaged into it and i imagine the story in my head.

8)The character that have really interested me while i was reading this book is Hassan. In my opinion i take Hassan as a person who Scarifies his self just to please people he loves interest.

“....You’re a lucky Hazara,” Assef said, taking a step toward hassan. “Because today,it’s only going to cost you that blue kite.”
“Amir agha won the tournament and I ran this kite for him. I ran it fairly. This is his kite.”
I don't know why hassan did not just give up the kite and tell Amir he could not have found it.
In my group discussion i have decided that Amire don like Hassan but he would not want to show it because he is scared. the two friends use to hang out and have fun till the accident happen to Hassan. Amire felt like he should protect his self by staying away.

“Baba came out and ask. Did you steal Amir watch. Hassan?” Hassan reply was a single world, delivered in a thin, raspy voice: “yes”
“ I flinched, like I’d been slapped. My heart sank and i almost blurted out the truth. Then i understood: this was Hassan final sacrifice for me.”
. I feel like he went to far by lying because he knew it would get Hassan and his dad out the house.I agree with amir that, that will be the lat Scarifies Hassan do for him.

what i think of kite runner

During the class discussion today it made realize what I would really like to talk about in my opinion of the book the kite runner.
First of all I really like to talk about the ending of the book. When we started talking I heard Allah said “to me the end were boring it not what I suspected”. Beatrice also said that she dint like it.
I would like to tell my thought of the ending. The ending I won’t say were boring but it gives a gift to Amir. It gives him freedom from his guilt he had in his heart for a long. He also saved a person deer to him life. He saved those kids in the orphanage from the bad memory and bad thing that eself did to them.
When Amir and Hassan were little kids, Hassan got raped and Amir didn’t not do anything or help. When he moved to America that guiltiness in his heart fallow him. He was angry with his self that he lied on his friend and his brother name.
Amir is free from the pain of not knowing that Hassan were his brother. He went back to look for him and even though he did not find him, he still did something that made him feel like he still were with his brother Hassan.
I will like to add that even though Amir never had the chance to really apologize to his brother for not helping him he still did something that help. He went through all that trouble of getting Hassan son and not caring what will happen to him. For example when he went into Eself office to get the boy both of them got in a fight. To me that was a big risk he took because he knew and were capable of what Eself is able to do to him.

Something else I will like to add is that people were kind of mad that Eself did not die. I am happy that he did not die. Not saying I didn’t wanted him to die in the story. But I like that fact that he will stay alive and go through all the pain with his eye that heart. I want him to feel the pain every second that je live like those little kids that he raped felt the pain. The boys who lives he has ruin and took them a long time to get to their regular self he should feel that same amount of pain.

free respone......

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger of California said Monday that he is glad Proposition 19, which would have legalized recreational marijuana use in his state, was defeated - even though "no one cares if you smoke a joint or not."
Pot legalization advocates are undeterred by the defeat of Prop. 19
They see the election as a trial run that could lead to a campaign with a better message, a tighter measure and more money. Both the winning and losing sides say California's voters rejected this specific initiative, but remain open to legalizing the easily obtainable drug.

A White House spokesman has made the usual vapid statement that politicians of all stripes make in these situations: drugs are bad, blah, blah. “Today, Californians recognized that legalizing marijuana will not make our citizens healthier, solve California’s budget crisis, or reduce drug related violence in Mexico. The Obama Administration has been clear in its opposition to marijuana legalization because research shows that marijuana use is associated with voluntary treatment admissions for addiction, fatal drugged driving accidents, mental illness, and emergency room admissions”, Gil Kerlikowske, the drug policy director for the Obama administration, told Californian reporters.
This subject reminded me of when we were in math class and we started talking about why will someone want to legalized marijuana. someone from the class said that it would be a stupid idea because it like letting people get legalize crack.
for my self i feel like it should not be legalized because we have enough stupider people that have found a way to take it even when they know that in the law if you are not proscribe to take it you are not supposed to have it at all.

in the writing up there i agree that legalizing that drug is not going to help anything but make it worse. Teenager who don't know what they are dong can take too much of it and damage their Brain. people can feel like that is good for them taking to much and may not know what they are doing and kill their self.

I'm really happy to know that it not legalized and people will not make their self stumpier then they already is.

respne to the post

When i was looking on google reader i notice on yazan response he had something i was very interested in and i will like to response to also.

Reflecting on my words, i noticed that Amir has showed his guilty feeling through out his tough times dealing with the deaths of his friends and beloved ones. After loosing so many of his loved ones, he takes a risk of leaving the women he loves (knowing that almost everyone else in his life is dieing) just to go visit an ill friend, Rahim Khan.

After realizing who Hassan really was, it made Amir feel like his father was a sinner, a thief that lies. On the impressions of Amir, Baba's sins seemed to relief him of his own actions. After hearing the story about Hassan's death, Amir after deep thinking and thoughts of greed, but covered up with guilt; takes matters into his hands by heading over to a Orphanage.

i agree that Amire has change over the years he lived in San Fransisco. he realize what he did to hassan was wrong when his father died. know that hassan is his half brother he feel very guilty of letting him get rap and not getting any help.
there is nobody left in Amire life like yazan said so he feel very alone and feel like he need to do something to stop him from thinking about his past.
when yazan said that he is leaving his wife to go back home to see his brother hassan even though he knew every body were dying from him. i will say he did that just to get the relationship that were between him and Hassan to come back. he wanted to do something that will make hassan knows that he still love him,he want to be there for him and he is sorry for the incident that happen between them.

I don't think Amir think his father was a sinner. i felt like he was disappointed that his father kept that in him for so long. he even kept it in him when hassan were leaving and did not say something to stop it.
It kind of good that he never told amir that hassan were his brother because maybe when hassan were getting rape amir might wanted to go and help and then end up hurting hisself.

what i feel about the book

Reflective essay
In class discussion we mostly talked about something else but also in a way they relate to the story the kite runner. I want to talk about every one of the topic and tell what I feel and what my opinion.
Women right: my group and I talk about why we feel like Eself is raping little kids. We said he felt alone because in the afghan religion the women are very isolated, they never get to be with the man. We also said that he is raping little kids to get in power and so they can be afraid.
Russia hate: I’m not really sure why this is related to the story but I think it was added because balba did not like the Russians. But I think they hated the Russian because they took over their country.
The orphanage: I was wondering why anybody in Hassan family didn’t take his son to the orphanage when he had died.
Balba refusing treatment: when Balba were sick and had cancer why wouldn’t he go and get treatment. I said he was just tired and wanted to go to rest because he had too much guilt in his heart.
Amir change: when Amir moves to San Francisco he changed. He was no longer that selfish little kid who was afraid on what people may think of him but what he thinks is right to do. He was thinking of the bad things he did to Hassan. For example when he watched Eself raped Hassan he didn’t do anything about it.
Amir wedding: I have a question of why when Amir were getting married rham khan did not help out with the expenses but only give his daughter out to get married. And also did he allow Amire to married his daughter because he knew the father from when they were in afghan.
My group and I mainly talk about Eself being GAY but not wanting to tell the people of Afghan because of the religion. When we were talking Mr. Sutherland told us not to say that because we were not told he was gay. I still think personally that he is because if he still raping boys for example Hassan son and his friend and he is enjoying it and keep on doing it over and over ha is gay.

I AGREE WITH ALEAH ON HER OPINION OF THE BOOK.I WAS NEVER INTERESTED IN THE BOOK UNTIL IT GOT TO THE PART WHEN HASSAN WAS RAPED.I FELT SYMPATHY FOR THE FOR AMIR AND IT WAS DISTURBING TO READ,AND TALK ABOUT DURING CLASS DISCUSSION.I WILL SAY SO FAR THE KITE RUNNER IS AN OKAY BOOK. WHEN SHE WROTE HER POST SHE STATED THAT SHE HAD SOME QUESTION FOR THE AUTHOR I ALSO HAVE A LOT OF QUESTION OF MY OWN. IM WONDERING WHAT WAS THE REAL REASON WHY THE HE WROTE THE BOOK. AND LIKE ALEAH SAID IS THE BOOK BASE ON A TRUE STORY. DID HE HAVE A CHILDHOOD LIKE THE RAPING SCENE AND EVERYTHING THAT INSPIRED HIM TO WRITE THE BOOK.

I KIND OF THINK AMIR IS A SPOILED BRAT BUT NOT REALLY. HE MIGHT BE SPOILED BECAUSE HIS FATHER WERE VERY FAMOUS IN THE PLACE THEY STAYED AND LOT OF PEOPLE KNEW HIM SO AMIR THOUGHT HE SHOULD TAKE CONTROL OF IT. BUT HE ALSO NOT SPOILED BECAUSE HIS DAD WAS NOT THAT PRIDE OF HIM. HE COULD NOT STAND UP FOR HIS SELF AND HIS BEHAVIOR WERE LIKE HE WILL NEVER BE THOUGH LIKE HIS DADDY.HE FEEL SAD EVERY TIME HE HEARS HIS DAD TALKING TO ONE OF HIS FRIENDS THAT HE AFRAID THAT HIS SON IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH.

IN THE STORY HE NEED TO STOP THINKING OF WHAT PEOPLE THINK OF HIM BUT WHAT HE THINK OF HIS SELF.

In the book we are reading called kite runner there is a lot of different way I feel about this book nut I will just beak it down and falow a strategy I came up with when I were doing my quick write.
I decided that I will write something about each of the character for example what interesting and how there appearance is to me. I got some of this from the people on my table when we talked about the book.
Hassan
• Nice kid that is sensitive. He really care for people for example I said this because when he and Amir was getting bother by the other kids he would stand up for both of them.
• He really love the friendship he and Amir had because even when he got raped and he found out that Amir knew but he never went for any help he still forgot it and wanted to be Amir friend. He is a kid who try to fit in. it like most of the kids who live around the neighborhood don’t like him and try what ever they can do to make fun of him, but no matter what he is still standing strong.

Amir
• People at my table felt like he did not like Hassan. One example was when he and balba were together and he ask for Hassan he lied on what Hassan was doing because he didn’t want Hassan to be there. I said that I think he scared to hang out with Hassan because he doesn’t want to be treated like Hassan.
Eself
• He don’t like Hassan that why he is always trying to bother him
• He raped Hassan so he can remember why he did not give the kite.
• He is a selfish person who think when they bully they will be in power.
• (I really don’t understand how eself raping Hassan is going to help him feel happy about his self.
Balba
• Feel like his son Amir is not like him he is to different to stand up for his self.
